Pantry organization

Pantry organization

Happy Saturday Friends!

What better feeling is there than a clean organized pantry?!? (A lot of things so don’t actually answer that ;))

Anyway…..

We pretty much have a large cabinet that we use as a pantry and it can be super frustrating to try and fit things in there and deal with all the things! So, I’m giving you my best tips and ideas along with my favorite products we use to keep it all organized!

Let’s start with my favorite products!

(This post may contain affiliate links, meaning if you chose to purchase from a link I may be compensated for it. As always I would never add something I don’t truly love or use!)

My ultimate FAVORITE jar to store things in would be mason jars! They come in lots of sizes and are pretty budget-friendly (a major plus in our house)! I don’t love the mason jar written on top of them so I try and get the smooth-sided kind. They even have super large ones that are great for flour and stuff you might have a larger supply of!

I love that you can see everything, and when they are inside our cabinet they are easy to move around to get behind and they just look pretty so I like it!

I also added white lids because I just love them!

The labels these have are also super handy & cute :) I’m a big fan of things having a home and a labeled home! That way EVERYONE knows where things belong!

Hands down these white baskets from Dollar Tree are my number one organization must have! I use them for every room in the house & basically for anything! In the cabinets I use them…

  • To store onions/ potatoes

  • For grouping like can goods together

  • for storing Tupperware of the same size

  • they are also great for fridge/ deep freeze storage!

The white ones are harder to find in-store (they have lots of colors)…..but they are amazing!

Another Dollar Tree favorite are these clear bins!

Pretty much all of our snack foods go in these! They are a lot bigger than they seem, an entire box of cheese it’s fit perfectly in one (for reference). That’s not to say sometimes we don’t have two containers of the same foods. We pretty much buy the same snacks so it’s easy to switch things in and out/ have a good idea of how many containers we need.

For skinnier things, I LOVE ice cube storage trays!

Things we use these for would be…

  • baby food

  • cracker packages

  • breast milk (freezer storage)

  • spice package seasonings

  • etc. . .

Okay. . . some of my tips!

  1. group like things together.

we have a shelf for breakfast, a shelf just for kids things, & one for snacks. Even if it does get disorganized from time to time (hello we live here) it all goes in that area! It’s more helpful than you might think!

  2. Utilize the freezer

We almost always have extra bread, bagels, etc.. in the freezer. Even if we will eat two loaves of bread a week I HATE having so much room taken up by bread! It takes two seconds to pull it out when you run out of one….or if you forget 10 seconds in the microwave! ;)

  3. Play around with stuff!

It’s okay to change your mind/ keep changing your mind on where things go until you get a system figured out that works for you! There is no one size fits all and even season to season things might need to be adjusted!

  4. Decanting is EVERYTHING

I literally can’t tell you how much this has changed things for our family! Just getting all of that (ugly) large packaging out of our cabinets has been SO AWESOME! More space & less stressful to look at or find things!

  5. It doesn’t have to cost a lot

Figure out your problem spots first then decide what to do about it! DO NOT run to the store and buy things because you’re going to start organizing it. look at your problem spots (aka canned goods etc. .) and then go from there.

Use things you have first (shopping your house is the best!) and then search the dollar store or Walmart before giving up because everything is $$$.

Hopefully, that was a helpful start for you! I plan on going more in-depth about problem areas in future blogs! Let me know if you have any problem spots you want help with! Just comment below and I’ll see what I can do!
